And How To Fix It!
The other day, I had a deep conversation with my daughter, Fernanda. We were talking about how people try so hard to manifest more money and abundance in their lives. They use all kinds of techniques—manifestation meditations, praying to God or their angels, buying lucky charms, working more hours, signing up for referral programs, or even buying lottery tickets.
They keep asking themselves, “What else can I do to make more money?” They repeat these actions over and over, convinced that they’ll eventually break through and money will start flowing. But months, or even years later, they find themselves in the same position, or sometimes worse.
The Reason for Not Manifesting Abundance.
As I was explaining this to Fernanda, she looked at me and said, “Mom, when people are ‘pre-occupied,’ they can’t pay attention to the important things.”
Her words struck me. She was absolutely right!
When we’re preoccupied—whether it’s with stress, survival, or constantly searching for external solutions—we lose sight of what’s truly important. We get caught in the chaos, and that chaos spills into every part of our lives. Being ‘pre-occupied,’ (occupied before something happens) is the reason for not manifesting abundance!
Disorder is a Reflection of Stress and Overwhelm.
This took me back to my childhood. My mom, after her divorce, was preoccupied with making ends meet. In those days, divorce was taboo, and all support systems seemed to vanish for her. My dad helped when he could, but it wasn’t enough. My mom was focused solely on survival, trying to earn enough to take care of her three daughters.
Her mind was constantly consumed with worry and stress. As a result, our home was often messy. I remember stepping in to clean and organize at a young age, trying to bring order to the chaos. The disorder in our home was a reflection of the stress and overwhelm we were all living with. My mom was too preoccupied to notice the state of things, but for me, keeping our space clean was my way of finding peace in the storm.
You Can't Attract Abundance When Lacking Clarity.
Looking back, I realized that when you’re preoccupied—whether it’s with making money, surviving, or just keeping your head above water—things get messy. And when your surroundings are messy, your mind is messy. You can’t think clearly. You’re living in survival mode, and that makes it nearly impossible to attract abundance.
This is why I decided early on that I didn’t want to live that way. I didn’t want to constantly stress over money or live in chaos. I wanted a life filled with abundance—not just financially, but in every way.
Be Open to Manifesting Abundance.
For me, abundance means having a peaceful, organized space, where everything flows and supports your well-being. It’s about having enough of what you need, so you’re not scrambling or living on the edge of scarcity.
Think about it: when your home is cluttered, it’s hard to feel at peace. And without peace, how can you be open to receiving abundance?
When Preoccupied, You're Distracted.
That’s the deeper meaning behind what Fernanda said. When you’re preoccupied, you can’t pay attention to what really matters. You’re too distracted by the noise and mess to focus on the things that will actually lead you to abundance.
The Signals are Inside of You!
This lesson was mirrored in the experience of one of my clients. She spent years chasing certifications and new skills, hoping they would bring her fulfillment and success. She became an expert in Human Design, then certified as a yoga teacher, and later pursued nutrition consulting. Each time she thought, “This will be the missing piece.” But even after all of that, something still felt off and she kept being preoccupied and unfulfilled.
It wasn’t until she got sick that she was forced to slow down. At first, she was preoccupied with worry, trying to figure out what was wrong. But once she discovered she was lactose intolerant and started listening to her body, something shifted. She realized that her body had been sending her signals all along, but she was too distracted to notice.
As she began to tune into her body and take care of herself, she found clarity—not just about her health, but about her work. She started integrating all the knowledge she had gathered—Human Design, yoga, and nutrition—into a unique approach that truly resonated with her. Her business became successful, but more importantly, she found peace because she stopped looking for answers outside of herself and started paying attention to what was happening inside.
Peace Opens the Doors to Abundance!
Just like my childhood home, when things get messy in your life—whether it's your health, your space, or your mind—it’s a reflection of a deeper imbalance. And when you’re constantly preoccupied with external worries, finding the peace that opens the door to abundance becomes harder.
Conclusion:
The solution isn’t out there, in the next technique, prayer, or certification. The solution is within you. Clear the clutter—both mentally and physically—and create space for peace. When you’re no longer preoccupied, you can focus on what really matters, and that’s when abundance begins to flow.
